PORVORIM: Over 4500 cases of encroachments on government and comunidade land are reported in Goa, Minister for Revenue Rohan Khaunte informed House.
Minister said that government is considering regularising the unauthorized constructions on comunidade land in the State.
As per the information tabled on the floor of the House, Khaunte said that there are a total of 3129 cases of encroachments registered on government land and another 1382 on comunidade land.
Sattari taluka tops the list with maximum of 956 cases of encroachment on government land, followed by Dharbandora 827 and Sanguem 575. Mormugao taluka has reported 328 cases and Bicholim 149.
As far as Comunidade land is concerned, Administrator of Comunidade Central Zone has reported 357 cases.
“Wherever cases of encroachments are reported, necessary action has been initiated to remove the encroachments,” Minister said.
Khaunte was replying to two different questions tabled by BJP MLA Carlos Almeida and Independent MLA Prasad Gaonkar.
