MARGAO: The Curtorim Village Panchayat and Health Centre held a joint site inspection of the sewerage water flowing into the gutters and thereafter spilling on the road at Kargil in Curtorim and found that the allegations made in the complaint regarding the nuisance was indeed true.
The Primary Health Centre has now taken a serious not of it and is likely to issue show cause notices to the owners of nearly 68 houses here.
Recently, a group of citizens had lodged a complaint and alleged that sewage water from several houses from the hilly was flowing on the road.
The panchayat along with officials of the health centre on Friday conducted a site inspection and found that sewage water was released into the gutters and was later flowing down on the roads.
“We found that sewage water from the houses from the hilly area spilling on the road from the gutters and causing hardships to residents here,” said Caetano Hilario, Sarpanch, Village Panchayat Curtorim.
He also informed that a report will be prepared by the panchayat and submitted to the health centre for further action.
He also said that they needed to check if those houses have septic tanks but presently it has been observed that sewage water is being directly released into the gutters.
Residents charged that houses had been constructed after the hill cutting and there are chances of land slides occurring here during the rains.
