Bicholim JMFC on Friday granted bail to seven accused involved in group clashes at Karapur-Sanquelim on Sunday, even as police rearrested two group members on charges of setting ablaze four shops on the same day.
According to Bicholim police, Prasad Parab, Vithu Malik, Suraj Igvekar, Gopi Malik, Vishram Malik, Viraj Malki and Satyaprakash Parab who were arrested on Monday were released on bail on Friday.
Later, the police rearrested Vishram Malik and Satyaprakash Parab under Section 436 IPC.
It may be recalled that on Sunday, clashes between two groups near Karapur had left one person injured, with miscreants setting ablaze five kiosks at the KTC bus stand in Sanquelim.
The police had arrested seven persons from Kudnem-Sanquelim after people from Sanquelim had staged a rasta roko.
