MARGAO, MARCH 26
The Tourism department has revoked the NOC granted to Ms Hospitality Resort Ltd for erection of temporary shack structure in a private property at Utorda village for the season October 2009 to May 2010.
The Director of Tourism Swapnil M Naik has further directed that the security deposit submitted by the party shall be forfeited for violation of the condition of the NOC. The order issued on March 25 has further debarred Ms Hospitality Resort Ltd from applying for NOC for the structure in private property for next three year tourist season.
The action from the Tourism department comes following a complaint lodged by a local
Villager Alexio Pereira, who contended that the structure in question has been sealed by the District Collector as the owner could not produce the relevant documents.
Moreover, the Tourism Director based his order on the site inspection report field by IA (South) Karekar, who clearly stated that the structure in question is not a temporary one, but is made using steel pipes etc.
“It is clear that Ms Hospitality Resort Ltd has kept this Directorate in the dark about the report from the Collector submitted to the high court and also the fact that the structure was already constructed on October 23, 2009 even before the application for this office was made on October 30, 2009, thus attracting one of the condition of the NOC”, the Tourism Director stated.
Besides, Naik observed that from the report of the inspection staff of the Tourism department, it is clear that the condition No 3 of the NOC has also been violated as the structure is made of steel etc which is totally prohibited under condition No 3 of the NOC.
