ACB registers case against Info Tech officials

PANJIM: The Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) on Friday registered an offence against the officials of Information Technology and Info Tech Corporation of Goa over tender scam of over Rs 80 crore.

PANJIM: The Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) on Friday registered an offence against the officials of Information Technology and Info Tech Corporation of Goa over tender scam of over Rs 80 crore.
In a press release issued by the Goa Police, the unnamed officials  of the two departments involved in the process of tendering GAP-I Project, worth Rs 6.30 crores  to Nupur Technologies Pvt Ltd and PCS Technology Ltd although they were not on the empanelled list of vendors, on July 31, 2009.  The departments had allegedly also not carried out the required codal formalities.  “So also the act of the officials in the process and tender of GAP-II Project (involving around Rs 76 crores) on account of which Nupur Technologies became eligible for the GAP-II Project and as such the said act was illegal and abuse of position resulting in pecuniary advantage to the firms,” the press release reads.
