PANJIM: With three more recoveries and no positive cases on Friday, the State’s tally of active cases has come down to 28. The State’s total tally of positive cases stands at 69, with 41 cases recovered and 28 active.
Health Secretary Nila Mohanan, addressing press conference said that the North Goa District Hospital witnessed an unprecedented huge crowd on Thursday for collection of swabs.

“In wake of this, the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) has place 40 plus staff at the five counters to handle the huge crowd,” she said.
Mohanan further said that the build-up was unexpected as 571 people came in from just one check post of Patradevi on Thursday.
“Following the demand we have also scaled up our capacity,” she said.
She further informed that those tested from now on will get an SMS on phone about their result immediately.
“If the result is negative, this can be used as COVID negative message from DHS,” she said.
Need to cap inflow of people: Health Minister
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane on Friday said that the inflow of people has to be checked.
“Yesterday there was a huge crowd at Asilo and I feel we cannot go on increasing machines, there has to be a capping on people coming in. The Chief Minister has to take a decision,” Rane said.
He said, ‘Till today we are safe but some strict measures are required.”
“I am confident the Chief Minister will look into all these issues,” he says.
