PANJIM: A group of students of Dhempe College of Arts & Science have moved the High Court of Bombay at Goa against the college decision to withhold their results.
In the writ petition filed before the division bench on Thursday, students have sought directions to the college and Goa University to declare the Semester I and Semester III supplementary results of First Year BA and BSc, and Second Year BA and BSc. According to the petitioners, the exams were conducted in April-May 2016 to allow the successful students – who passed the examination – to take admission for the academic year 2016 -2017.
The students have sought relief as admissions for the fresh semester end on July 15. The matter will come up for hearing on Monday.
GU in its report to Chancellor Dr Mridula Sinha maintained its stand of not promoting the students. The varsity cited GU ordinances OC 45 and OA 17 stating it was not possible to declare the results of the supplementary exams.
