The city Sessions Court on Friday rejected the bail application of Zanito Cardoz, who has been arrested in connection with assault on Adv Aires Rodrigues.
The Additional Sessions Judge Pramod Kamat dismissed the application while upholding objections raised by the public prosecutor Subhash Dessai,
The public prosecutor opposed the bail stating accused is a habitual offender and two more cases of similar nature are pending against him.
It may be recalled that on November 13, about 10.30 pm, masked men armed with knives and rods had attacked Rodrigues who was along with Prof Prajal Sakhardande, while they dinned at a restaurant near Head Post office in the city.
