BICHOLIM: The villagers from Sawantwada in Amona have demanded a thorough investigation into the alleged murder, on last Saturday, of a 36-year-old local youth Ranjesh Sawant.
A meeting of around 40-45 villagers was held on Friday at Sawantwada in Amona, wherein they demanded that the police conduct a thorough investigation into the suspected murder.
It may be recalled that police had retrieved the headless body of Sawant floating along the bank of Amona river near Amona Khandola bridge on Saturday.
Meanwhile, search operation by naval divers to trace head of the deceased was in progress till late evening. Police sources said that the body would be handed over to the relatives once the head is traced.
