MARGAO: Brushing aside the possibility of any impact of anti-CAA/NRC/NPR protests on the upcoming ZP election, State BJP president Sadanand Shet Tanawade, on Monday, slammed the Margao and Fatorda MLAs for attending the meeting opposing the Act, which was passed by the Parliament.
“The CAA will not have any impact. The stand of BJP remains the same. A rally organised by the BJP in support of CAA has received more response than expected. This was an answer to the people who are opposing. Some people want entertainment and to give speeches,” he said.
“Some people, who even after being elected representatives and knowing that the Act has been passed in the Parliament, sit in the crowd, is utterly “shameless” act and it feels bad. It was okay if it were some party workers but Digambar Kamat is a 5-time MLA and Opposition Leader and Vijai Sardessai, who was present at the meeting, sitting in the audience, this does not suit them”, Tanawade said.
“Even former GPCC president and ex- MP of Rajya Sabha John Fernandes is speaking in favor of CAA and mentioning that it was the mistake of Congress and BJP correcting it should be supported,” he added.
