Chief Minister has stated that the government will consider ordering a Judicial Inquiry into the Arpora fire tragedy once the ongoing Magisterial Inquiry submits its report. Depending on the findings, the government may also issue notices to additional officers who are found to have played a role in regulatory lapses.
The CM said the administration is committed to ensuring full accountability and will not hesitate to take strict action against anyone responsible. “Once the Magisterial report is out, we will decide whether a Judicial probe is required. If more officers are involved, notices will be issued accordingly,” he said.
Reaffirming the government’s stance on illegal constructions—an issue thrust into the spotlight following the tragic nightclub blaze—the CM announced that all illegal structures will be demolished without exception. He stressed that the government will adopt a zero-tolerance approach toward unsafe, unauthorised, and non-compliant establishments.
The remarks come amid heightened public demand for transparency, accountability, and stronger safety enforcement across Goa’s nightlife and hospitality sector. More action is expected as the inquiry progresses.
