MARGAO: Principal District & Sessions Judge B P Deshpande on Monday sentenced one Neves Rodrigues of Baina, Vasco to a fine and also to undergo rigorous imprisonment for attempting to murder one Severina D’Mello at her residence at Kattem, Baina on January 30, 2014.
Neves has been sentenced to four years Rigorous Imprisonment for attempt to murder and a fine of Rs 10,000 in default of which he has been sentenced to a further undergo simple imprisonment for one month.
For offence under Section 504 of the Indian Penal Code for intentional insult with intention to breach peace, he has been fined Rs 5,000 in default of which to undergo 10 days simple imprisonment.
Neves was accused of abusing, assaulting Severina, her husband Mohit Ojha and her mother Cecilia on January 30, 2014 at their residence at Baina.
