Mirabag: Following an assurance by Pramod Sawant, work to refill the excavated area at the proposed Bandara project site has commenced at Mirabag near the Zuari River.

The site, which had earlier been dug up for the controversial project, is now being restored as part of the government’s response to public opposition and protests. The move is seen as an attempt to address concerns raised by local residents over the project’s impact.

However, tension was reported at another location linked to the project that falls within private property. According to sources, the landowner locked the gate and denied entry to machinery, including a JCB, effectively halting further work at that site.

Police personnel were deployed at the spot to maintain law and order as the situation unfolded. Authorities are yet to issue a detailed statement regarding the developments at the private property.
