Bardez Dy Collector warns of firm steps if COVID SOPs violated

MAPUSA: Bardez Dy Collector Kapil Phadte informed that a team of administrative officers, including the police, would soon conduct surprise visits to control crowds in public places and take action against people without masks. He also warns that if clubs and hotels violate the SOP the properties might get sealed.

Phadte further appealed people to follow SOP’s, wearing masks, washing hands and keeping safe distance while taking rise in COVID cases in the State into consideration.

“Everyone should take the current situation seriously and follow SOP’s. We will hold meetings of all stakeholders in the coastal areas and appeal to them to comply with the COVID SOP. Apart from that, in case of violation of SOP by clubs and hotels, it will be sealed as required,” said Phadte in a press meet. He was accompanied by General Physician Dr Nazareth Anthony Olegario and Dr. P V Naiks

“If one has got symptoms then should visit the nearest health center and not stay home since despite symptoms people are not moving out and getting themselves tested as a result when things go bad, they have to shifted to GMC”, said Dr Nazareth.

“From April 1, anyone above age of 45 is eligible for vaccination. So everyone should get this vaccine”, said Dr Naik.
