During the recently held by-election Saglani- backed candidate won the election giving the upper hand to the group. After this victory the Saglani group filed a no-confidence motion against the chairman, Yeshwant Madkar.

“Since BJP knew that they would lose the no-confidence motion they used all the means to delay the process. First they gave us a date to discuss the motion which was after 43 days,” Saglani said.

‘Together for Sanquelim’ group led by former SMC chairman, Dharmesh Saglani decided to approach the High Court for delaying to discuss the no-confidence motion against the chairman.

The HC gave the decision in favour of Saglani group and asked the Sanquelim Municipal Council to hold the election to the chairman’s post at the earliest.
