The BJP has finalized 14 candidates for Mapusa so far. The chosen include: Udai Narvekar (Ward 1), Anand Bhaidker (Ward 2), Martin Carasco (Ward 3), Suresh Harmalkar (Ward 4), Marlyn Oscar D’Souza (Ward 8), Ryan Braganza (Ward 9), Tushar Tople (Ward 10), current chairperson Roopa Bhakta (Ward 11), Sandeep Falari (Ward 12), Joshua Francis D’Souza (Ward 13), Dipti Lanjekar (Ward 14), Swapnil Shirodkar (Ward 15), Rohan Kavlekar (Ward 18), and Sudhir Kandolkar (Ward 19).
The other six candidates will be finalised shortly, while the final list is expected to be released on Monday.
Meanwhile, Mapusa Congress president Vijay Bhike stated that the congress would not field a panel for the election. He added, “We will lend our support to candidates who are interested in working for the betterment of Mapusa.”
