When asked to reveal the names of the frontrunners for the candidature, Parrikar replied that he doesn’t want to breach party protocol and secrecy.
On the statement that he will canvass door-to-door for the candidate, Parrikar clarified that he meant that he would meet people individually to explain to them why the decision to resign as Panjim MLA had been taken.
“I had asked PM Modi to give me two-months time for the same,” he said while stating that since that much time was not available to him, he had decided to use the Christmas break of 8-10 days to personally visit the people so that he could thank them and express gratitude.
