VALPOI: A panel of three BJP candidates from Valpoi for the upcoming Zilla Panchayat (ZP) elections filed their nominations on Thursday with the Deputy Collector’s Office. They did this in the presence of Valpoi MLA and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane along with hundreds of supporters who held a rally as well.

Sagun Sitaram Wadkar from Pissurlem village filed the nomination for Honda ZP seat and similarly Rajashri Shahu Kale from Nagargao village for the Nargargao ZP seat and Devayani Devidas Gawas from Mauxi village for the Querim ZP seat. All the candidates were chosen by Rane and approved by BJP.
The Honda seat is open for all, where as the Nargargao seat is reserved for OBC women and the Querim seat is reserved for women.
While addressing the media, Rane said, he would like to thank the concerned BJP mandal presidents, BJP party president, party leader Satish Dhond and all the party workers. He added that the party has taken a good decision and that they will work hard to get all four ZP members including Usgao elected with a good margin of votes. He added that they are committed to working in sync with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and with the support of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
“I am very overwhelmed with the response we received while filing the nomination. Our ZP candidates will play an important role in resolving major issues from time to time. Let us all unite and ensure that we have a thumping victory this ZP election to work towards the betterment of Sattari and Usgao,” Rane tweeted.
“And we, with our vision for Sattari and Usgao, will ensure that we live up to the expectations of our people. Employment generation, women empowerment, skilling, etc have always been our focus areas and we will work towards achieving the same, “ he added.
