MAPUSA: A Nagoa resident, who was booked in four different cases registered at three different police stations, was finally arrested by the Calangute Police on Sunday.
According to police, the raid was conducted by a police team on Sunday night wherein they apprehended 19-year-old Sarvesh Divkar, a resident of Nagoa, who was booked in four cases registered at Mapusa, Anjuna and Calangute Police Stations respectively.
Sources informed that the teenager was involved in stalking case of a minor girl wherein he was repeatedly contacting her and following her despite her disinterest. He further insulted her modesty and threatened her with dire consequences. The Calangute Police had booked him on May 5, 2020 under Sections 504, 354-D, 509, 506(ii) IPC and Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act, 2003 and Section 11(iv) of POCSO Act. He was absconding since then.
The police further informed that two criminal cases are registered at Anjuna Police Station against the accused while one at Mapusa Police Station which was registered last year.
The Calangute Police team comprising of PI Nolasco Raposo, PSI Rajaram Bhagkar, PSI Viraj Naik, Head Constable Devidas Haldankar, constables Vinay Shrivastav, Shasank Sakhalkar, Amir Naik, and Mangaldas Gauns conducted the raid.
the JMFC Court Mapusa remanded the accused to four days police custody.
