VASCO: The halted work of Vasco fish market complex and KTC bus stand will restart soon and executed at a rapid speed, as Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has assured to look into the matter and extended his support to these projects, Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida said.

Almeida said that almost 80 percent of the piling work has been completed and the deadline has been set for the bus depot to be completed by end of 2020.
He said that KTC bus depot work was held up due to some technical reasons and some issues with the contractor. “But during his recent visit to Mormugao Sawant has assured his support for the KTC bus stand project and Vasco fish market,” he said.
Almeida averred that the KTC bus stand project is an ultra modern transport hub, one of the best in India, and it will cater to all the four constituencies of Mormugao taluka. He emphasised the project will be a self sustaining utility, as KTC will give on rent multiple offices and outlets generating income, which will be used for maintaining the infrastructure.
On fish market complex project which the fisherwomen have been demanding since several years, Almeida said since the project comes under Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA), it has been decided that Urban Development Minister Milind Naik, Mormugao Municipal Council Chairperson Nandadeep Raut, Chief Officer Gaurish Sankhwalkar and he should have a joint meeting with the stakeholders to finalise the place where the vendors could be shifted for the time being.
“After that the works on the Vasco fish market will be taken up,” Almeida added.
