MARGAO: The All Goa Tourist Taxi and Bus Association met with the local authorities to address grievances about alleged harassment by local taxi operators along the beach belt.

During the meeting, the association submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Superintendent of Police (Traffic)and the South Goa DySP of repeated incidents where the vehicles of its members were damaged by local taxi unions when they arrived at the hotels to collect guests.
The members accused these unions of exerting unlawful control and creating an unwelcoming and hostile atmosphere for operators from outside their groups.
Despite numerous complaints, the association expressed frustration over the lack of effective enforcement.
The association urged stricter measures, including revoking the badges and permits of offenders, to ensure the safety and fair treatment of all tourist taxi operators.
