PORVORIM: With stiff opposition from the people of Canacona to the proposed IIT project, now Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral is firm on getting the project in Curchorem and Sanguem.
Cabral while speaking during the ongoing assembly sessions said that he and Sanguem MLA will work hand in hand together to get IIT in Curchorem and Sanguem.
“I have already told Chief Minister today that I and Sanguem MLA have already identified the land for IIT, Canacona people don’t want it; we have identified 9 lakh sq mtrs land. CM should look into right angle”, he said.
Cabral said Curchorem also needs the integrated educational complex.
“In Curchorem town almost 15,000 students are studying in all the schools and the educational complex is also needed here”, he said.
He submitted that the land is already been identified by him and assured that he will get the NOC from the land owner.
