MARGAO: Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao on Sunday said the Church’s mission of education is a continuation of the mission of Jesus ~ a mission to give life and a mission of setting free from the shackles of ignorance, anger and injustice so that human begins may be truly free and may enjoy life in all its fullness.
In his homily at the Eucharistic celebration to commemorate the golden jubilee celebrations of Carmel College of Arts, Science & Commerce for Women in the college campus at Nuvem Sunday evening, the Archbishop said the golden jubilee celebration is a privileged time for everyone connected with the educational institute, to recommit themselves to the high ideals of Carmel College to educate women, to serve and to lead. “We are here to thank God for this beautiful journey of 50 years, whereby so many young women have been truly set free and have grown in experiencing life and have been empowered to be witnesses of true freedom, true joy and true peace,” the Archbishop said.
Principal of Carmel College, Sr M Aradhana said, “It is a real joy to be here today and to see the loved ones of the Carmel family.” She praised Goa for the glorious years of Carmel, saying it is the hand of Jesus that has helped the Institution to grow, while praying hat the Almighty may continue to guide everyone to greater heights.
