PANJIM: Corporation of City of Panaji (CCP) will be relocating the remains of the deceased buried in the niches of the south-eastern section of the boundary wall of the St Inez Christian Cemetery in the city.
The relocation will be taken up in order to undertake repair of the wall which is in the poor condition and on the verge of collapse.
“The South-eastern section of the boundary wall of the St Inez Christian Cemetery is showing signs of significant deterioration and appears to be on the verge of an imminent collapse. It is therefore informed that the individuals who have laid their loved ones to rest in the niches of the affected wall may contact the Corporation of the City of Panaji as the remains need to be relocated to a secure and suitable location till the re- construction work of the boundary wall is completed,” the CCP said in a public notice.
