VASCO: Chicalim Panchayat, the Town and Country Planning department and Forest department will jointly conduct an inspection of Arms Depot project at Assoi Dongri soon.
Deputy Sarpanch Kamala Prasad Yadav said that panchayat has now decided to send letters to the defence officials, Forest department, Town and Country Planning department and Water Resource department to have joint inspection of the project site. “This will give clarity over the technical aspect such as permissions obtained for the projects. After the joint inspection panchayat can initiate action,” he added.
An NGO had drawn the attention of the authorities to the construction of the arms depot project whose work was started recently.
NGO claimed that the ongoing arms depot project does not have permissions from TCP, Forest department and Water Resources Department for undertaking tree felling, burying natural spring and hill cutting at the site. The NGO had also complained about such development in the recent past to Forest department and Flying Squad which has not acted upon the issue till date.
