VASCO: Chicalim Panchayat will remain closed till September 10 after sarpanch Sebastiao Pereira tested positive for COVID on Saturday.
According to the available information, Pereira after feeling unwell on Friday underwent a COVID test at the Cortalim Primary Health Centre which came positive.

Pereira took his family members for the COVID test, but they tested negative. To ensure people’s safety, the panchayat will remain shut till Thursday. After sanitisation, the panchayat would reopen.
Meanwhile, efforts to contact the Sarpanch proved futile as he was not available for comments. He has reportedly gone into home isolation.
