A section of a cowshed at Cikeri-Mayem was extensively damaged after a fire broke out on Friday night, causing losses estimated at around ₹10 lakh.
The blaze reportedly destroyed equipment and other parts of the facility, leaving a section of the cowshed gutted.

Fortunately, the fire did not reach the area where the cattle were housed, averting what could have been a major tragedy.
Had the flames spread to the cattle enclosure, the incident could have resulted in significant loss of livestock. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
