Garbage needs to be collected and transported in trucks that have a metal covering. However, it is observed that at several places the garbage is transported in open trucks. When these trucks move on the roads they spread an awful stench which affects other road-users.
Much of the light garbage gets carried away by the wind due to the movement of the trucks which latter falls on the roads. When the government has laid emphasis on cleanliness it becomes prudent to transport the garbage in closed and well insulated trucks.
At times it is observed that the leachate from the garbage in the trucks seeps on to the roads thereby leaving a trail of terrible stench.
The concerned authorities need to take steps to prevent this.
