DDSSY – is this scheme also turning into a scam?

I received my (Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana) DDSSY card two weeks ago. Since I was asked to check the data entered, I also happened to read on the monitor, that the validity of my card is till March 31, 2017.

I received my (Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana) DDSSY card two weeks ago. Since I was asked to check the data entered, I also happened to read on the monitor, that the validity of my card is till March 31, 2017. I asked the person who issued me the card why I was not told about it, nor the validity was printed on the card. He said he had no knowledge, and that I should ask the higher ups. The issue is, if the scheme started in September 2016 and premium paid, is valid till March 2017, a period to 6-7 months, why is the government charging a premium for the full year? I paid Rs300/family of 4, card issued on September 26, 2016 (6 months in my case).
Will they also charge full premium for a card made in February 2017 which will expire in March 2017? What if someone falls ill on April 1, 2017 and hopes to use the facility, not knowing that his card is not valid? Would it be an April Fool’s day? How is one to know that he/she is supposed to renew the card before March 31 when the validity is not printed on the card? Or will it be auto renewed and the premium can be paid later during the year?
I think the public should be made aware of this. Agree?
Surely you have all the right contacts to look into the matter. Would be doing a great favour to lakhs of Goans (may be even non-Goans?)
