T he matter regarding the door of a transformer lying on the ground near fire station at Varkhandem in Ponda was published in this column on Monday, March 12.
Thankfully, taking a note of this serious issue, the electricity department swung into action and was quick in affecting the necessary changes.
Two days later, on Wednesday, March 14 at 9 am, the collapsed door was fixed at this particular transformer.
Due to this swift action on the part of electricity department, pedestrians, especially school students have been assured safety while proceeding along this location.
I am thankful to the higher officials at this department for initiating prompt action in public interest. Also, special thanks to the ‘Citizen Herald’ team for highlighting this important matter.
