The Kadamba bus terminal in Panjim is in a pathetic state. Commuters from various States including Goa use the busy inter-State bus terminal. It is well-known that the hygiene and cleanliness standards are below par and it gets worse as commuters from across the country, many of whom have low standards of cleanliness, use the terminal.
There are foreign tourists too using the bus terminal, who have impeccably clean bus terminals in their countries, and can be totally disgusted with our total lack of civic sense.

These days, every eatable item is wrapped in plastic and people shamelessly throw around the packaging materials and litter the whole bus stand premises. Spitting everywhere is also common.
It is necessary to place sweepers all through the day in the bus terminal and to place numerous dustbins and remove all the clutter lying around so that the terminal will remain impeccably clean all the time. It is the duty of the authorities to maintain ‘swachhata’ in every part of the State.
