The Vasco civic body is making a concerted effort to clear the pavements from encroachment by the vendors in the Port Town which has been well appreciated by the citizens. However it is observed that some roadside vendors are doing brisk business by occupying the pavements at certain spots during the evenings. This is so because these vendors probably feel that they will not be stopped from selling their wares by the authorities after office hours. It would thus be prudent for the civic staff to make surprise checks after 5 in the evening specially, at the public gardens and parks.
