MARGAO: ‘Citizens Choice’ panel, which has been fielded by a conglomerate of various citizens from Margao has assured a reduction in house tax by 50 percent along with giving corruption-free governance if voted for in the MMC elections.

Orlando Pacheco from the ‘Citizens Choice’ governing committee claimed that that the 6 candidates they have fielded have no political masters who will manipulate them.
“A panel by the citizens themselves based on their experiences has been fielded. We are going together with the Shadow Council which has also done a lot of jobs in the Margao town. Based on that the ‘Citizens Choice’ panel has been established” said Pacheco.
“‘Citizens Choice’ will be citizen’s voice. We want to assure all voters that we will take up citizen-centric issues” said Pacheco.
Orlando said that if the Supreme Court rules against the elections they will field more candidates.
Francisco Augusto Fernandes one of the candidates said “Where is our Margao of yesteryears. To bring about a change and to put an end to the old ways of governing the town people have to support us.”
