MARGAO: Citizens and daily commuters are expressing frustration over the delayed road repair work at the Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) bus stand in Margao. Large potholes at this busy transport hub has caused inconvenience for both the public and bus owners.
Despite administrative approval being granted for the resurfacing of roads within the Margao KTC bus stand, amounting to nearly Rs 83 lakh, in May 2023, the work is yet to commence even after almost three months.
GOACAN (Goa Civic and Consumer Action Network) has raised questions about the delay, urging the authorities to put the approved plan into action before the Dussehra festival, which is also the anniversary of KTCL’s inception.
Roland Martins, convenor of GOACAN, announced their intent to write to the Managing Director of KTCL to address the urgent need for road repairs at the bus stand.
Commuters like Menino Fernandes, who travels daily from Margao to Panjim, have expressed frustration with the neglect of road conditions at the KTC bus stand.
Given that this is a major bus stand in South Goa, residents and tourists expect better maintenance and infrastructure, added Fernandes. However, the current state of the roads and overall conditions are deteriorating, causing concerns among the public.
