MARGAO: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Thursday pushed the blame on the Cuncolim Municipal Council for acquiring the agricultural land belonging to Vishnu Desai.
He even went to the extent of saying that it is for the Cuncolim civic body to come out with a solution. When the media drew his attention to the hunger strike by Vishnu Desai and his family which has entered the third day on Thursday, the Chief Minister point blank said that the Cuncolim municipality has acquired the land. “It is the municipality that has acquired the land. The government is only a processing agency”, he told the media.
When questioned further that Desai was pinning hopes on him to resolve the issue, the Chief Minister said “let the Cuncolim Municipality tell us what to do and
we will take a decision
accordingly”.
