Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday, came out in support of film shootings in the city arguing that ‘just because of such a small incident we cannot ban film shooting in the State’.
“Film shooting cannot be banned. We can issue directions on the functioning of its crew members…their behaviour with public,” he said, adding “As per my information, police were quick to act on the complaint of Rebello…some people have been arrested.”
Meanwhile, BJP condemned the attack on Rebello stating that the ‘attack is an attack on self respect’.
The party has appealed to the Corporation of the City of Panaji to take appropriate steps so that such incidents do not occur in future and cause harassment to public.
