PANJIM: Two days after inspecting the works of the Mandovi and Zuari bridges, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday held a meeting with senior officials of the Personnel Department to take stock of the existing vacancies, promotions and retirement issues in various government departments.
The meeting, held at his private residence, went on for over two hours, a senior official said. The CM went through the entire records of how many vacancies are pending in different departments and also how many are awaiting promotions.
Parrikar was briefed about the entire issue and took stock of the situation. The officers were instructed to take necessary steps to fill in vacancies and promote officers, who are due.
The Chief Minister had on Sunday inspected both the under-construction bridges on Mandovi and Zuari rivers by visiting them.
