PANJIM: Even though there wasn’t anything Goa-specific, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant welcomed the Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Recting to the Budget, Sawant said the Modi government has delivered a perfect budget. “There is something for everyone in the annual statement. The Budget is looking towards new India and will fulfil the aspirations of one an all and the poorest of the poor.”
He said Goa could be benefited from the 17 iconic tourism sites which are to be promoted as world class iconic sites. “We hope Goa would be one of the place,” he said.
When pointed out that his demand for a financial package for mining and a waiver of royalty on high grade ore did not find space in the Budget, he said, “Even though it is not mentioned in Budget I am hopeful of getting it approved from the Centre.”
