CM makes case for road widening
HERALD REPORTER
MARGAO, OCT 29
Chief Minister Digambar Kamat has said that the number of accidents will increase if the state does not go for widening of the roads.
He was reacting to the statement made by the Leader of the Opposition, Manohar Parrikar demanding a White Paper on the National Highway project.
The Chief Minister said that last time round, there was a presentation on the National highway, wherein even the Leader of the Opposition had participated.
“That time, Parrikar had expressed certain reservations and apprehensions. We will not mind talking to him again on the issue”, he said.
Kamat made it categorically clear that the government is ready and willing to solve any discrepancies vis-à-vis the national highway.
However, Kamat said “the number of accidents will increase if we don’t go for widening of the road”.
