Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday said that seized narcotics are destroyed under the supervision of the High Court, with the entire process being video recorded by the Anti-Narcotics Cell.
Speaking at the Nasha Mukta Bharat Abhiyan, the Chief Minister stressed that authorities in the state ensure that drugs are not merely seized but are also scientifically and legally destroyed.
Sawant highlighted that the destruction process is conducted transparently and in accordance with legal guidelines to prevent any possibility of misuse or recycling of seized contraband. He added that the involvement of the judiciary and video documentation strengthens accountability and public confidence.
The Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s commitment to combating drug abuse and supporting national efforts to create a drug-free India.
