The Rouse Avenue Court has discharged former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the CBI case related to the Delhi Excise Policy.
The case, investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), pertained to alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the now-scrapped excise policy.
While delivering its order, the court observed that no evidence was found against the accused in the matter. It further emphasised that a fair investigation is a prerequisite for ensuring a fair trial.
With the discharge order, both Kejriwal and Sisodia have received significant relief in the CBI case. Further legal proceedings, if any, will depend on subsequent developments in the matter.
