Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that he has temporarily assumed the role of Chairman of the Kala Academy, Goa’s premier cultural institution.
Speaking to reporters, Sawant explained that since the Art and Culture Department currently falls under his portfolio, he has taken over the chairmanship for the time being.

“The Kala Academy Council will be constituted shortly,” he assured, adding that the process to reconstitute the governing body is already underway.
The move comes amid administrative changes following the dissolution of the earlier council. The Chief Minister said the interim arrangement is aimed at ensuring the smooth functioning of the institution until a new council is formally in place.
