The Colva Police have registered a case of rape against a 26-year-old man for allegedly engaging in sexual relations with a woman on the false pretext of marriage.
Police identified the accused as Subhash, a resident of Colva. According to officials, the complaint was filed by a 26-year-old woman who alleged that the accused developed a close relationship with her between November 2025 and March 22, 2026.

As per the complaint, the accused allegedly promised to marry her and, on multiple occasions, engaged in sexual intercourse with her under that assurance. However, when the woman later sought to formalise the relationship through marriage, the accused reportedly refused.
Police stated that the case has been registered based on the woman’s complaint, treating the allegations as rape on the promise of marriage. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
Police Inspector Vikram Naik confirmed the details of the case.
