MAPUSA: Inmates of Central Jail Colvale on Friday protested against the poor quality and quantity food provided to them. “The inmates are not being provided with prescribed quantity of food by the authorities,” said the sources. Sources said due to shortage of onions and vegetables, the food for the inmates was cooked without g onion. Due to the same, the inmates refused to eat alleging poor quality food being served. The authorities managed to convince the inmates to eat. However in the evening, the inmates were adamant to go back to their cells.
