PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has assured to conduct a complete inquiry into all the evidence submitted by the Congress in the alleged sexual exploitation case, allegedly involving former Minister Milind Naik.

Hours after Congress disclosed the name of Naik as the minister involved in the alleged sexual exploitation case on Wednesday, the Urban Development Minister resigned from the Cabinet the same night. The resignation, accepted by the Chief Minister, was forwarded to Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai.
On Thursday, Sawant said that Naik’s resignation has been accepted and the case will be probed thoroughly.
“We will 100 per cent investigate all evidence submitted,” he reiterated.
Asked whether the vacant Cabinet berth would be filled, Sawant replied in negative. “No, the Cabinet place will remain vacant and I will handle the portfolios,” he said.
Naik was Minister for Urban Development, Social Welfare, River Navigation and Institute of Public Assistance (Provedoria).
