PANJIM: The Congress accused Independent MLAs of having a ‘personal agenda’ which they are trying to further. Addressing the media, Congress spokesperson Sunil Kawthankar said some people (legislators) who claim to take Goa forward, are now working to take only themselves forward.
“The opposition non-Congress MLAs are not working in the interest of the State. But have their personal agenda and are looking for political prospects. Their ego, arrogance and selfish intention will not work for them,” Kawthankar charged.
The statement comes after Independent MLA Vijai Sardesai expressed disappointment over the weak performance of the recently formed grand alliance, wherein he alleged that Congress MLAs were in setting with the ruling coalition. Post this, Congress MLA Vishwajit Rane lashed out at Sardesai calling him the B-team of the BJP and threatening to quit the party if it joins hands with Sardesai.
