PANJIM: As India registered three confirmed cases of coronavirus in Kerala and several suspected cases across different States including Goa, Goa Police has issued a health advisory instructing its force to maintain personal hygiene and create awareness among people to contain rumours associated with the infection.
In a meeting held recently, the police department has also extended support to the Directorate of Health Services, in case of occurrence of public violence related to such disease at various health centres in the State.
Superintendent of Police (Police Head Quarter) S M Prabhudessai, in a notice to district head quarters, police stations and units, has asked to display pamphlets educating on coronavirus. “…To create awareness by displaying pamphlets in various police stations and units on coronavirus to avoid spread of rumours regarding fear of coronavirus and misleading posts on social media,” the note reads as.
“It has been advised to take personal hygiene methods by proper washing of hands and (maintain) hand hygiene, covering mouth when coughing and sneezing, and avoid visiting countries affected with the coronavirus outbreak,” the SP added.
