CORTALIM: In a sudden reversal of its earlier stand, the Cortalim-Quelossim Panchayat issued inspection notices to the kiosk owners in the Cortalim fish market.
The notices which have been pasted on the kiosks states that the panchayat will conduct site inspection on February 14.
Interestingly, on February 5, the panchayat issued demolition notices to the kiosks owners to demolish their structures after two kiosks were put up within a space of 15 days.
Panch Anita Kenkre who has been critical of sarpanch’s functioning said the panchayat was adopting a system which is contrary to the normal practice.
“The sarpanch should have conducted inspection of the structures and then decided on the future course of action,” Kenkre told Herald.
