PANJIM: Extending its crackdown on prostitution dens, Crime Branch (CB) sleuths arrested 10 men, including a French national, and rescued eight young girls from RJ’s Ayuspa in Porvorim.
The raid that began late Saturday evening continued till midnight with the accused men and the victims subjected to medical tests.
Ayuspa, located near Angels Resort was doubling as a prostitution den, according to CB officials. Accused Thomas K, Vishal Rai, Lalmuanpuia, Vijayashankar Biju, Shambhuran Rana, Abhishek S R, Prashant Gangeputra, Ashif Khurshe, Arvind Tiwari, Birendra Singh and the lone foreign national Garin Francois Arsene were arrested under relevant sections of the Immoral (Traffic) Prevention Act.
The girls, hailing from Mizoram, Karnataka and Kerala were rescued and later sent to the Protective Home at Merces after a medical test at Goa Medical College and Hospital to verify whether they were sexually abused by the accused men.
