Vendors at the popular Curchorem Sunday market are allegedly leaving behind large stones used to support their tents, creating dangerous obstacles for motorists and two-wheeler riders.
Local residents have expressed growing frustration, claiming that these stones — often scattered across the roadside after the market wraps up — have become accident traps, especially for unsuspecting riders during night hours.
“There are several stones left right in the middle of the road. It’s just a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt,” a concerned local said.
Locals have now called on the Curchorem municipal authorities to take immediate action and clear the stones to prevent any potential mishaps. They warned that any delay could lead to a tragic accident.
The municipality is yet to respond to the complaints.
